Just north, is the Baraga State Park, with 56 acres for hiking, cross-country skiing, fishing, picnicking and play grounds. A stone's throw away, is the Shrine of the Snowshoe Priest, honoring Bishop Frederic Baraga, the first Bishop of the Upper Peninsula. Heading south, you'll reach Marquette, the home to Northern Michigan University and our "big sister" hotel, the Landmark Inn, formerly the Northland Inn (www.thelandmarkinn.com).
